ACTION ALERT!!!!
We have just received word that the Senate Bill 273 has been sent to the House of Representatives to the Committee on Regulatory Reform.
We need to inundate the committee with emails asap. It matters how many letters they receive—this is a QUANTITY issue!
Here are the guidelines:
1. Email preferably—apparently they do print out the emails, and are added to a “pile”.
We need a BIG pile of “support” letters.
2. Look up the members of the committee and send the email to each one:

3. Keep your message simple—main points are:
- This is a jobs bill—it will open job opportunities
- This is a mental health bill—it will give more choices for mental health services
to Michigan citizens
- It creates a level playing field with other professionals
- It streamlines regulation
Pick a point or two. You can include a short note about how independent practice will help you professionally or how it will solve a problem for you.
KEEP IT SHORT BUT TO THE POINT.
4. Do this ASAP
5. Check if one of the members of the committee is YOUR representative. STATE THAT YOU ARE A CONSTITUENT OF HIS/HER DISTRICT.
6. Try to encourage as many other people as possible (doesn’t just have to be the people involved) to write for support.
