Hegira Programs’ mobile crisis intervention and stabilization service, Community Outreach for Psychiatric Emergencies (COPE), was developed in the context of it serving as a single entry point into a continuum of organized crisis and community based outreach and coordination of care services. Peer supports and Therapy staff work together as a team in a mobile environment to help persons in crisis get the right help to relieve the crisis. Persons providing services will be employed by either Hegira Programs, Inc., or Neighborhood Services Organization or Northeast Guidance Center.
Staff working in the COPE Program will be working in Wayne County and outlying communities. The COPE program is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year program. At this time, all shifts are available, both full and part time.
The Mobile Crisis Specialist shall have, at minimum:

Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university, specializing in psychology, social work, or guidance and counseling.

Must be fully licensed as an LMSW, LLP or LPC by the State of Michigan and maintain licensure. Limited licensure considered for those employees whose job responsibilities do not include pre-admission reviews.

Must have MCBAP SUD credentialing or submit a Development Plan within 30 days of employment.

Must have provided direct treatment services to adults in a behavioral health inpatient or outpatient setting for not less than 18 months, of which at least 6 months’ time was spent working with adults who have co-occurring disorders.

Demonstrate critical knowledge of diagnostics, psychopharmacology, and supportive treatment approaches as applied to a severely mentally ill (SMI) adult population

Knowledge of the identification and treatment of co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders

Show a commitment to the Recovery Model.

Strong verbal communication skills.

Working knowledge of community resources.

Possess a valid driver’s license, proof of current automobile insurance and meet the Employer’s minimum driving competency standards. Employees will be driving Program vehicles.

Must have or be eligible for and obtain a State of Michigan Chauffer’s license within seven (7) days of offer of employment.

Knowledge of Wayne County’s mental health system.

Possess basic computer skills to perform job duties.

Basic electronic communication and internet skills to gather information required for the program and program participants.
Benefit packages vary depending on whether you are full-time or part-time and the Employer – Hegira Programs, Inc., or Neighborhood Services Organization or Northeast Guidance Center. Employees of these public service 501(c)3 organizations are also eligible to participate in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program for student loans.
Salary range $43,000 - $55,000 dependent on State of Michigan licensure (full or limited), experience and the Employer – Hegira Programs, Inc., or Neighborhood Services Organization or Northeast Guidance Center.
