Jan Klein

Jan Klein is the current president of MAPP. Has been in practice for over 15 years and graduated from what was then Mercy College of Detroit with a Master's in Psychology and Substance Abuse. Has worked in the field of neuropsychological and psychological evaluations for over 10 years. Works with the Head Injured as well as with the non- injured. Certifed as a Clinical Medical Hypnotherapist for about 10 years. Has been involved with MAPP for at least eight years.

Mary Clark

Dr. Mary Clark, Ed.D., began her term on the MAPP Board in January, 2008. She is Associate Director of Alpha Psychological Services, P.C., in Northville. She served for 6 years on the international board of directors (served on the Membership Committee) for the Christian Association for Psychological Studies, as well as the Midwest Regional Director for 16 years. She has published two books, most recently, Together and Strong, 2005; published in local and national professional journals; was guest editor for a national Information Insurance Information Advertising Rules Supervision journal volume in 2002. She is an Eating Disorder specialist, and has presented nationally and internationally at public and professional conferences. She and her husband, Dr. Thomas Clark, live in Plymouth with their kitty, Rachmaninoff.

Clarence Goodlein

DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY

City of Wixom, Michigan • Department of Police and Fire Services

Clarence Goodlein has been in police service for more than thirty years and began his police career as a member of the Detroit Police Department. He is the Director of Public Safety for the City of Wixom where he administers police and fire budgets of nearly $6 million and directs the response of 60 police and fire personnel to nearly 20,000 requests for public safety service annually. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy's and the Southern Police Institute's Executive Leadership Programs as well as the Senior Management Institute for Police that is sponsored by the Police Executive Research Forum at Boston and Harvard Universities annually. He is a Michigan Limited License Psychologist who completed his training at Northville Regional Psychiatric Hospital where he treated patients with thought, mood, and chemical dependency/substance abuse disorders. He has served as an adjunct college instructor of counseling psychology at Rochester College for more than five years.

Bruce Klein

Bruce Klein has a MA in Clinical Psychology and a MA in Counseling and Guidance. Bruce completed all but his dissertation at Wayne State University in Educational Sociology. After retiring from Wayne County Community College as a Professor and Department Chair in the Fine and Performing Arts Department, he began a new career in the field of psychology. He trained and worked as a clinician at the Gateway Counseling Center in Madison Heights. After four years of agency work, he went into private practice specializing in trauma, interpersonal relationships and psychoanalysis. At present, Bruce is teaching at Oakland Community College as an Adjunct Professor in psychology. He also works part-time for the Education Intervention Program working with individuals who are on probation for drinking and driving violations and the use and/or possession of marijuana. Although, Bruce likes to work with individuals who have drug dependency issues, he intends to focus more of his attention in the area of psychoanalytic psychotherapy. Bruce will complete his psychoanalytic training through The Michigan Psychoanalytic Council and will receive certification as Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist in the spring. He plans to continue his studies and earn analyst certification.

Jeff Toepler

Jeff received his undergraduate degree in clinical psychology from Western Michigan University in 1985 and his Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the University of Dayton, 1990. He was on staff from 1986 to 1998 at two community mental health centers in Dayton, Ohio. He is currently with TEAM Human Capitol Solutions, Troy, Michigan, since 1998 as 1) counselor in the employee assistance division, 2) as a Coach in the TEAM Wellness program, and 3) as a Substance Abuse Professional with the federal department of transportation.

They were all taken to their eternal rest way too early - all from various forms of Cancer.

After finishing high school, I attended McCormick Business College where I received my first job offer to work for Meeker TV - a company from N.Y. that represented radio and TV stations around the country and advertising agencies.
